The Sumba Foundation has been approved as a partner of 1% for the Planet – a growing global movement of companies that donate 1% of their sales to a network of environmental organizations worldwide.
Sean Downs, CEO of The Sumba Foundation said he was delighted that their submission to be involved with 1% for the Planet had been approved.
“Because 1% for the Planet members use their 1% commitment to create a healthy planet, we had to ensure that the work of The Sumba Foundation supports this objective before we could be accepted as a recipient organization,” said Sean.
“Businesses that participate in the 1% for the Planet program will now be able to direct some of their sales to our programs which include providing water and health services including malaria eradication for the people of the Indonesian island of Sumba.”
