Claus Bogh, PhD joined the Sumba Foundation in 2004 as Health Program Director, establishing the Malaria Program and first medical clinic. In 2013, he was appointed as Executive Director and Ketua, overseeing finance and all official partnerships. Under his leadership, the Health Program has grown to a robust network of 5 medical clinics, a malaria school, and team of clinicians dedicated to eradicating the disease from the island.

With extensive research experience in malaria and other tropical diseases, Claus has served as National Mosquito Borne Diseases Advisor for Indonesia’s Ministry of Health. Alongside his commitment to The Sumba Foundation, Claus has worked for 10 years as a research coordinator for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and for 5 years with Oxford University, advancing groundbreaking studies in public health.
